Munnar in Kerala is known for its pleasant climate all over the year. Not only this, its sublime hills have the potential to give competition to the more-visited hill stations like Manali and Shimla when it comes to tourism.
In every season and time, there is something new to witness in Munnar, and that makes this Western Ghats hill station an edge over the hill station of Northern India.
The hills of Munnar are situated at a height of 1600 meters above sea level, and the picturesque view there makes it a great vacation and honeymoon destination.
According to me, the best time to visit Munnar is from September to November.
It is just the end of the rainy season and the occasional drizzle now and then makes the whole surroundings there even more green and beautiful. The weather is comfortably cold. The main perks and scenes during this season are lush tea gardens, sparkling waterfalls, and the picturesque Annamalai Mountains. There is indeed a reason that Munnar is dubbed the “Kashmir of South India”.
Winters, that is the months of November and December, are also not that bad for visiting Munnar.
You might as well like to spend your
Christmas and New Year vacations there, when the temperature usually drops to as low as 5 degrees Celsius.
You can enjoy winters comfortably here without the fear of heavy snowfall.
