Paneer or Cottage Cheese is everyone’s all-time favorite. With Paneer, you can make many dishes –salty, spicy, and even sweet.
Some of the dishes are Achari Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala, Shahi Paneer<, and so on.
Hitting directly your question however, let me tell you an easy way to make Paneer Tikka at home.
Ingredients:
Paneer (Cottage Cheese): 250 grams (cut into dices)
Curd: ½ cup
Gram flour: ¼ cup
Capsicum: 1
Tomato: 2
Onion (medium sized): 1
Coriander leaves: 1 spoon (finely chopped)
Ghee or Butter: 1 spoon
Oil: 1 spoon
Black pepper (grounded): 1 tablespoon
Chat masala: 1 tablespoon
Lemon juice: ½ spoon
Red chili powder: ½ spoon
Cumin powder: ½ spoon
Ginger paste: ½ spoon
Green chili paste: ½ spoon
Turmeric powder: ½ spoon
Salt: According to taste
Method:
1. Add gram flour, black pepper, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger paste, green chili paste, oil and salt in curd and mix well. Also add some water to make the mixture even.
2. In this mixture, add the pieces of paneer, and sauté. Keep paneer pieces in the curd mixture for at least half an hour.
3. After half an hour, take out the paneer pieces from the mixture in a plate and keep them in refrigerator for an hour.
4. Now wash the capsicum and tomatoes thoroughly and cut them in a particular shape.
5. Peel the onion and cut it likewise, separating its layers.
6. Now put a non-stick pan on the gas stove and heat butter in it. Fry paneer pieces in it on a low flame, and keep them separately.
7. Heat some more butter in the same pan and add cumin powder in it. Fry capsicum, tomato, and onion in it now. Place a lid over the pan and let the vegetables cook for 2 minutes.
8. Now put fried paneer pieces again in the pan, add chat masala and lemon juice in it, and cook for a minute.
9. Place the paneer pieces, onion, capsicum, and onion one by one in a toothpick or a longer stick for presentation, and place the sticks on plate.
10. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.
