Australia- Flat White
Australians are notoriously known for being lovers of good coffee- Melbourne is known to be one of the coffee capitals in the world. And with their knowledge and love, the flat white was born. It’s smaller in volume than a latte, but is made by pouring steamed milk over a shot of espresso.
Turkey- Türk Kahvesi
Coffee was one of the things we included in our blog about things you don’t want to miss in Turkey and with good reason! It’s considered some of the strongest coffee around the world and it’s become such an important part of Turkish culture that UNESCO included it on its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Mexico- Cafe del Olla
If you fancy a coffee whilst exploring Mexico, you’ll traditionally be presented with the drunk in a clay pot, which has been brewed with cinnamon and piloncillo. For those of you unfamiliar with the latter, it’s a type of unrefined cane sugar.
Italy- Espresso Romano
If you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix then an espresso is the way to go! A typical Italian Espresso is served with a slice of lemon. It’s said to bring out the sweeter flavours in the coffee!
Finland- Kaffeost
This type of coffee may not be for everyone, but the locals love it! If you’re in Finland‘s Kainuu and want to sample their take on coffee, be prepared! You’ll be served small chunks of cheese in your cup, which you will then pour your coffee on top. Once you’ve finished your drink tuck into the cheese with the spoon provided.
Thailand– Thai Iced Coffee
The only cold coffee on the list, but by no means the least delicious. Coffee is mixed with sweetened condensed milk and poured over ice, making this coffee, strong, refreshing and beautifully sweet.
