Should we compare Priyanka Gandhi with Indra Gandhi?

This is a typical question asked by many people these days when Priyanka Gandhi was assigned the responsibilities in Congress. The answer to this question is a big NO. there are several reasons why Priyanka cannot be compared with Indira Gandhi

• The political environment: Behind the charismatic personality and impression of Indira Gandhi was due to the recent movements of freedom fight where she was backed by Jawaharlal Nehru and some more political leaders of that era who had a grand image on the country. This is completely lacking in the present era when the people of India are no more interested in who played a major role in the freedom fight.
• The active role: Indira Gandhi was in politics since long and had played an active role while Priyanka Gandhi has not played any such role till date. Hence she plays the role of a model only and gets the benefit of being from Gandhi family.
• Overall personality: If the personality of Indira Gandhi and Priyanka is considered, there are many similarities, but they are not sufficient to have a comparison.
• The political situation of the country: The current political situation of India is not the same as that was in the time of Indira. Hence this comparison is not possible.
