Honestly, there are many quotes and teachings from Chanakya Neetis that don't exactly fit my sense of understanding. Like "never make friends with people who are above or below you in status. Such friendships will never give you any happiness."

OR THIS ONE: "A wise man should marry a virgin of a respectable family even if she is deformed. He should not marry one of a low-class family, through beauty. Marriage in a family of equal status is preferable." QUITE ABSURD!!!!!
But since we all have given him a mythical-like status, a lot of us desperately try to blend and tweak whatever he has said to fit our sense of understanding.
It's similar to God and her/his teachings. A lot of what is written in, say, Bible is quite objectionable and doesn’t really fit the right narration. BUT given we're so blindfolded in faith, we try to justify those teachings/commands by entirely tweaking their existential meaning and focusing on their metaphors. Baptism is a fine example of this. You dip kids and teens in water for purification and admission to the Christian Church. Metaphorically, it means a fresh and new beginning for that individual. But in real terms, the ritual sounds quite absurd.

Nonetheless.
Back to the topic.
There are few Chanakya neetis or thoughts that I really like.

· "He is a true friend who does not forsake us in time of need, misfortune, famine, or war, in a king's court, or at the crematorium."
· "A man is great by deeds, not by birth."
· "He who gives up shyness while dealing with money, in acquiring knowledge, in eating and in business becomes happy."
· "Learn from the mistakes of others. You cannot live long enough to make them all yourselves."
· "As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it."
· "A person who try to get temporary things leaving aside the permanent things will loss both temporary and permanent things."
· "A person will take birth alone , will die alone and will take the fruits of his karma alone."
· "The earth is supported by the power of truth. It is the power of truth that makes the sunshine and the winds blow; indeed all things rest upon truth."
· "Once you start working on something do not be afraid of failure and abandon it. People who work sincerely are the most happiest person."
· "A Person should not be too honest. Straight trees are cut first and honest people are ***** first."
These are 10 Chanakya Neetis, thoughts that I like. Of course, there are plenty more good (and bad) ones.
