Finally Royal Enfield has launched the Himalayan, which comes with Anti-locking Brake (ABS). The price of new ABS equipped Royal Field Himalayan is Rs.1.7 lakh, while its sleet variant is priced at Rs.1.8 lakh.
The second model of Royal Enfield that comes with ABS, along with Royal Enfield 350 Classic, Himalayan exhibits no mentionable changes.
The bike continues to be powered by the fuel-injected 411 cc long-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that has been tuned to offer 24 bhp at 6500 rpm and develop 32 Nm of peak torque at 4250 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed transmission.
No feature updates are to be seen in the new version. The color options available for Himalayan are Snow (matte white), Granite (matte black), and Sleet (camouflage).
According to the reports, “with the addition of the anti-lock brakes, the on-road price of the Himalayan has gone well beyond the ₹ 2 lakh mark, topping out at about ₹ 2.2 lakh for the Sleet edition.”
