Kolkata is a city of ports and culture. It is basically the capital of West Bengal, India. It is located at the bank of Hooghly river. Also, it is 80 kilometers farther than the country Bangladesh. In earlier times, this city was named as Calcutta. Calcutta was it's official name until year 2001. It was given the name Kolkata after Independence. Also, it was the capital of Indian in British empire. They had given the name Culcutta.
