Satellite communication is the use of a satellite to send, receive and relay information. Popular applications of satellite communication include telecommunications satellites, military communications satellites, weather satellites and navigation systems such as GPS. The concept of satellite-based terrestrial communications dates back to the early 1960s when a voice transmission from one ground station to another was tested successfully by phone company AT&T Corporation.
So we can say that Satellite Communication is "The first experimental radio broadcasts by Earth Station One at Fort Lee, Virginia in 1946.
