The Khatu Shyam Mandir is a Hindu place of worship located in the Rajasthani hamlet of Khatoo in the Sikar area. It serves as a place of devotion for the gods Krishna and Barbarika, who is frequently seen as a Kuladevata. The head of Barbarika or Khatushyam, a famous warrior that donates his head at Krishna's command during the prelude to the Battle Of kurukshetra, is allegedly kept at the shrine, according to believers. Khatu Shyamji is worshiped in the exact same manner as Lord Krishna since the two are interchangeable. In Hindus, Barbarika, the child of Ghatotkacha, is represented by Khatu Shyam. The Mahabharata is where the myth starts. The courageous king Bhima, the second of the Pandava brothers, was the great-grandfather of Barbarika, also known as Khatu Shyamji or Shyam Baba. He was really the progeny of Bhima through Jagadamba, one of Bhima's queens, and Ghatotkacha. Barbarika showed incredible bravery as a fighter when he was just a child. His mother taught him the fundamentals of combat. Shiva, impressed with his abilities, handed him three needles that could never fail. Eventually, the god of fire Agni gave him the arrow that would enable him to triumph throughout the three realms.

History behind Khatu Shyam Baba:

In the Lakshagriha event, the Pandavas saw Hidimba when they were walking through the jungle after preserving their own lives. She desired Bhima to be her spouse. Mother Kunti commanded Bhima and Hidimba to together, giving birth to Ghatotkach as a result. Barbarik, the son of Ghatotkach, was much more secretive and strong than his father. Barbarik bowed down to the goddess.

He had been blessed by the Goddess with three divine arrows that found their mark and flew back. They had given Barbaric the ability to be unstoppable. Barbaric travelled to Kurukshetra during the Mahabharata War so they could to see the battle. Shri Krishna was aware that the Pandavas will lose if Barbaric entered the battle. Shri Krishna came in front of Barbarik as a lowly Brahmin to prevent him. Barbarik was questioned by Shri Krishna, who had now become illiterate, who he was and the reason he was travelling to Kurukshetra. Barbarik said that he's a kind-hearted warrior who has the power to end the Mahabharata battle by using just one of his arrows.

Shri Krishna discharged an arrow that penetrated every leaf of the Peepal tree in an effort to test him. The arrow came to rest over Shri Krishna's foot because a leaf was underneath him. Barbarik's talent startled Shri Krishna, and he was determined to use whatever means necessary to keep him from getting involved in the conflict. Lord Krishna demanded Barbarik's head as he requested for just a gift. The Pandavas were discussing whether or not to claim responsibility for winning the battle. Shri Krishna continued by saying that the Barbarik chief might make a decision. Barbarik's leader said that Shri Krishna's Sudarshan Chakra became active throughout the conflict, causing soldiers to tumble to the ground as downed trees. Draupadi was consuming Mahakali's blood in the shape of blood.

Delighted the chopped head of Barbarik was blessed by Shri Krishna with the promise that he would be honored in Kalyug under the name Shyam and that his followers would benefit from his memory and find this story, purpose, and redemption. Swayambhu Balaji, who has a beard and a moustache, is seated in this shrine.
