The bride and groom are asked to give their agreement for the wedding during the first pre-wedding ceremony called roka, and all the elders bless them. The bride and groom should take advantage of Roka Day to spend time together and get to know one another better. The families of the bride and groom also interact and have a fantastic time. On Roka's day, a Pandit from either the bride or the groom's side is called, and the couple is blessed and the marriage is officially announced.
