Customers like me are going into a frenzy ever since reading the news on popular newspapers about how the two giants, Walmart owned Flipkart and Amazon, are going to go head to head. This could mean just one thing for consumers like us – great products at really low prices.

Many are thinking, what’s new this time? It happens every year.

Well, Flipkart and Amazon India have battled out many wars on the e-commerce playing field, but with an international retailer as seasoned as Walmart in the picture now, this is going to be truly epic. Both the companies have negotiated with sellers for really low prices and are looking to offer them as discounts in this war of selling units.

In fact, some of the top newspapers reported that Walmart has given Flipkart a free hand into their 2 crore equity investment in the company to make sure that they emerge as leaders in the festive sale. On the other hand, Amazon is not looking to slack behind either and is expected to run the full mile in order to get ahead in this subcontinental battle of consumerism.

During Flipkart’s independence day sale, I bought a mid-budget gaming laptop with i5 8th gen processor and Nvidia GE Force GTX 1050 ti GPU at just 67000. The original price of the product is around 90000, and on 12th August, it was as low as 64000. That’s almost a 25000 offer on something that is much coveted today, and I did not find a deal on Amazon that was even close to it.

In fact, with a little bit of survey, I found out that Flipkart gave much better prices when it came to electronics and appliances, while Amazon led in variety and prices on everything else. What the next sale is going to bring is tough to know, but it will definitely be a winner for the consumer. And a healthy tip – don’t focus on loyalty to any one E-comm company, they are both trustworthy. Just focus on getting the best deal!
