The Decision Review System (DRS) in cricket was first introduced in 2008 during a Test match between Sri Lanka and India in Colombo. The system was initially trialed in a limited capacity and was gradually implemented in more matches over the following years. The DRS was officially adopted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2009 and has since been widely used in international cricket matches, including Tests, Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The DRS allows teams to challenge on-field decisions made by the umpires, using technology such as ball-tracking and Snicko to assist in making more accurate decisions.
