Which sports do you most like cricket or football?

My favourite sport is cricket i also play football but if someone say in which sports I want to make my career then i would go for cricket.Half of india population play cricket but outside india football is more popular.Both games have their qualities, both games need teamwork, dedication, hardwork to win matches.In india Cricketer are treated like god their brand value is increasing day by day and in foreign this goes for football player.Both games are best in their field.

Cricket has been ultimately famous in India and cricketers are treated no less than Gods in India.It became popular decades ago as cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev carried the craze of cricket on their shoulders and left a legacy for us to follow.
Since them we have seen a staggering increase in people who religiously follow cricket.We often see huge lines in front of sports complexes with parents trying to sign up their children to learn cricket.This behaviour is seen in parents as they too have been grown with the same obssession with cricket and want their children to carry it in with them.Many of the parents often also play cricket with their children like it is kind of a ritual to be completed with the home family.
Cricket matches build up the perfect amount of tension in the house.Especially because it showcases a lot of action replays with finger-biting moments waiting for the third umpire to declare his decision.
It is a sport the whole family can enjoy as it is something everyone feels connected to unlike football.

I do also personally prefer Cricket over Football. The reason being cricket has a huge following in India than Football. Moreover we dominate cricket in every form be it 50 overs cricket, white ball cricket or T-20. But in football we stand no where in International rankings. The reasons why Cricket has such a huge fan following in India over Football , even when the Football is the most viewed game all over the world and is the most expensive one also.
1. We have seen a considerable amount of improvement in cricket. We have won all the three World cup and we have the world's best player with us. If results are good over the period of time, more fans started to join the game. This we do not see in football, though our ranking in football is improving every player and we do have world class players like Sunil Chettri. Still we way is too far.
2. Cricket leagues like IPL has given the top class young players to the country. Every year we see a huge crowd in the stadium cheering for their teams. The craze is so much that this year we have the 12th edition of INdian Premier League with the fan base increasing from the last year.
3. In 1983, we won the world cup for the first time. Since then, we have seen the level of cricket rising in the country. Moreover we have Women's Cricket team, the best in the world. There is no lack of funds to support the game, which gives the world class infrastructure to the players. BCCI is the richest Cricket board in the World.
Though we see the league starting in football as well. We have Indian Super League to promote the football talent of the country. But that audience following is bit less. But I m sure in the times to come, we would see a huge fan following in Football as well, we would be having Indian Football team, competing for FIFA world cup and winning it.
