Folic acid is another name for vitamin B9 or folate. It is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for a variety of important functions in the body, such as DNA synthesis, red blood cell production, and proper nerve function.

Folic acid is particularly important during pregnancy, as it can help prevent birth defects in the developing fetus. It is also important for people with certain medical conditions, such as anemia, inflammatory bowel disease, or alcoholism, who may have a higher risk of deficiency. For convenient supplementation, many turn to a folic acid supplement Amazon to help maintain healthy levels.

Vitamin B, specifically vitamin B9, is a man-made form of folate, which is called folic acid. Folate can also be called as folacin and/or vitamin B9. The main purpose of this type of vitamin is to help in the production of DNA as well as RNA (these are the body's genetic material). This is specially important when the cells and/or tissues in the human body are growing rapidly, specifically during the time of infancy, adolescence and pregnancy. When helping during pregnancy, vitamin B9 helps in preventing birth defects. Folic acid also works along with vitamin B12 to help in the making of red blood cells. Another function is for B9 and B12 is to help the iron content in our body function properly.

Hope this helps you answer your question.
