Homi Bhabha center for Science Education chose a team of five exceptional students from all over India to represent the nation in the International Physics Olympiad 2018, held in Lisbon, Portugal.
What is fascinating is that all five of them bagged a gold medal in the Olympiad, making India proud. Four of the five students are the top rankers of JEE (advanced) and the youngest one is still in 12th standard, preparing for the examination.

Bhaskar Gupta from Mumbai, Lay Jain from Kota, Nishant Abhangi from Rajkot, Pawan Goyal from Jaipur, and Siddharth Tiwary from Kolkata, formed the team representing India in the International Physics Olympiad 2018.

India has achieved this for the first time in 21 years. It previously reached up to four golds and one silver medals. Out of 86 participant countries, China is the only one, along with India to bag the maximum numbers of golds (A proud moment for South Asia).

Among the Indian participant students, Lay Jain is going to pursue a course in Computer Science and Physics in MIT, USA, while Bhaskar Gupta, Pawan Goyal, and Siddharth Tiwary have opted for IIT (Bombay). Nishant Abhangi is the youngest one, studying in twelfth standard. All of them will be felicitated on Monday by Homi Bhabha center for Science Education.
