The great Indian tracker and field sprinter, Milkha Singh is known as the "Flying Sikh of India". He was born on 20 November 1929 in Punjab, India. He was at first in Indian Army and from there he had been joined to sports. He has awarded by many awards like Padma Shri. He has won gold medals and Asian Games too. He was a missile to athletic. But, due to Covid- 19, he has lost his life on 18 June, 2021.

Milkha Singh was known as the The Flying Singh because of his lightening speed on the track.He was born in Pakistan before the partition of India and moved to India in 1947.He had to suffer a lot during that period as he was orphaned during the partition . Milkha Singh won 400 m Gold in the Commonwealth games for India.A feat which was never achieved earlier to it.He also won 200 m and 400 m race in 1958 Asian Games.He narrowly missed the third position in the 1960 Olympics in the 400 m race.He is the only sprinter to win gold in 400 m race in Asian games and Commonwealth games.His timing in the Olympic Games was a national record even though he came fourth in the race and it stood for 40 years.
