The great Indian tracker and field sprinter, Milkha Singh is known as the "Flying Sikh of India". He was born on 20 November 1929 in Punjab, India. He was at first in Indian Army and from there he had been joined to sports. He has awarded by many awards like Padma Shri. He has won gold medals and Asian Games too. He was a missile to athletic. But, due to Covid- 19, he has lost his life on 18 June, 2021.Letsdiskuss

Milkha Singh, Indian track-and-field athlete was born on October 17, 1935, in Pakistan.He died on June 18, 2021,in Chandigarh, due to Covid. He came fourth in the 400-metre race at the 1960 Olympic Games and thus became the first Indian to reach the final of an Olympic event.
He was orphaned during the partition of India and came to India from Pakistan.He had to struggle a lot from childhood before joining the Indian Army.While he was in army,he realized his talent for athletics. Milkha Singh is the first Indian athlete to get gold in the 400 m race in the history of the Commonwealth Games.He is also called as the Flying Sikh by his admirers.

Milkha Singh was known as the The Flying Singh because of his lightening speed on the track.He was born in Pakistan before the partition of India and moved to India in 1947.He had to suffer a lot during that period as he was orphaned during the partition . Milkha Singh won 400 m Gold in the Commonwealth games for India.A feat which was never achieved earlier to it.He also won 200 m and 400 m race in 1958 Asian Games.He narrowly missed the third position in the 1960 Olympics in the 400 m race.He is the only sprinter to win gold in 400 m race in Asian games and Commonwealth games.His timing in the Olympic Games was a national record even though he came fourth in the race and it stood for 40 years.
