Steven Grant, Captain "Steve" Rogers is Earth's first known superhero, a World War II soldier, and a founding member of the Avengers. Steve Rogers was born in 1920's New York and had to work as an office boy in the US army building when he was rejected from continued military service due to his frailty, poor height, and sickly appearance. He was selected for a military experiment on the strength of his intellect that saw him injected with a "super soldier" serum made from an experimental formula developed by scientist Dr Abraham Erskine. This saw him grow taller and develop increased muscle density, peak performance, agility, and reflexes - but also left Rogers physically weak at times because it hadn't been perfected yet.
