Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-Chul in 1938 in Daegu, a city in what is now South Korea. Lee started the company as a small trading firm that dealt with groceries and products. Over time, the company expanded into other areas, including textiles, insurance, and electronics.
Samsung's entry into the electronics industry began in the late 1960s when the company established its first electronics division, which focused on producing black and white televisions.
