International Women's Day was created by the United Nations General Assembly on March 8th. It would not have been possible without the active involvement of thousands of feminist activists from all around the world. This annual global event is a humble tribute to individuals who have worked persistently to ensure that future generations, regardless of gender or social status, can achieve their full potential. During one day, there are thousands of things that happen. Here are a few examples:
- Free lunches are provided to waitresses, museum employees, and military personnel.
- Many establishments provide special discounts on women-only days.
- Some schools give out free cookies or brownies to students when they reach a specific number of days worked in that school year at their designated job positions like teacher or receptionist.
