“There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

"For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?"

These are some of the statements that Navjot Singh Sidhu said. And what was to follow a cyber assault on the Punjab Cabinet Minister. Twitter was buzzed with hashtags like #BoycottKapilSharmaShow #BoycottSonyTV #BoycottSidhu.
He was called by every possible name. Abused throughout the day.
And now, as it stands, according to an exclusive story of Times Now, Sidhu will be sacked from Kapil Sharma's show.
BOTTOM LINE: At this moment, I don’t think anyone would be spared if she/he suggests anything but another surgical strike on terrorists and Pakistan.
If you haven't been on Twitter, you should definitely go and see. (But do it at your own risk!) For whatever reason, people believe that hate and revenge are the natural emotional outlet for the loss of 44 CRPF jawans. There's hate, abuse, and voice of revenge everywhere online.
A country that once prided itself as liberal has now entered a radical nationalist era where people demand an eye for an eye.
At this time, our armed forces must be commended. Not only did they suffer a big and cowardly attack, but they are also effectively handling their emotions without waging a war. They lost their own and we don’t hear a single word of hate from them. If people really love Indian army and forces, they must respect their choice instead of pressuring them into taking certain actions.
But sadly so deep is the poison of nationalism into our veins, people do not even care about the army and their decisions.
Coming to your question, should the Indian army go for another surgical strike against terrorists and Pakistan, it's not such a straightforward question.
There are a lot of ends that need to be considered. It isn’t as simple as walking in a park and shooting bad guys. It's a fairly stupid decision to avenge the loss, one risk more lives. At this moment, we don’t need more casualties. Even one loss of jawan with 20 death of terrorists is a BIG loss. And we shouldn't do it.
Besides, with another surgical strike, there could be plenty of geopolitical repercussions. To that, India can lose its prerogative and self-righteousness on the global forum. And this can play badly in its efforts to marginalize Pakistan in the global stage.
So, personally, going for another surgical strike with a hot-head is not a good decision.
BUT like PM Modi has said, the Indian army has now the full liberty to take appropriate action in response to Pulwama terror attack. So, at the moment, we must trust our jawans and support them in whatever decisions they take.
