Laziness can be a sign of sadness, escapism, unemployment, or simply a poor habit formed after a period of inactivity. Identifying the cause and treating it appropriately is the best line of action. It's often the small steps that lead to great changes.

The more activities you do to conquer it, the more motivated you will become. If you want to boost your motivation, make a daily commitment to complete a certain job. It doesn't have to be a time-consuming activity; instead, it should simply take a few minutes.

  1. Be kind with yourself- It's common and easy to beat yourself up when you feel like you've been too lazy recently. But I've discovered that punishing oneself only makes you feel more guilty and like a failure. Rather than being trapped in that low-self-esteem rut, I advocate moving on to the next point.
  2. Do a tiny chunk of what really important first thing in the morning - It's critical to get what genuinely counts in the long term done each week if you want to enjoy your lazy/rest time fully and guilt-free. However, make it easier on yourself by breaking the work down into smaller phases and concentrating solely on the first.

Given all of those positive points, there should be no excuse for being lazy. Pushing your limits to the max and never giving up is a great time, but it can also be a difficult thing to do. The first step you should take in order to stop being lazy is learning how your brain works. If you know how your brain operates then you will have a better understanding of why it happens and what steps you can take next time around. Of course, learning about how our brains work is easier said than done! In order to learn more about how our brains work, i recommend checking out books like "The Brain That Changes Itself" by Norman Doidge or "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwel.
