Jameson is an Irish blended whisky brand which is produced by the Irish Distillers under the ownership of Pernod Ricard. Pernod Ricard was founded by Paul Ricard. He was a French industrialist who, along with his business partner Jean Hémard in the year 1975. On the other hand, Jameson was founded by John Jameson, who was originally a lawyer, by later opened a distillery in Dublin in the year 1780, that was the year when the famous Jameson Whisky was born. However, in the year 1988, Pernod Ricard and Jameson Whisky decided to shake hands and become one company. Since then, Jameson Whisky has been a subsidiary under Pernod Ricard.
