We tend to eat bread or brown bread with vegetables or curry when we don’t have chapatti left with us, or when we are too lazy to make it. But we should be are that brown bread or bread is very different from chappatti and neither of them can be taken as chapati’s alternative.
Chapati or roti is made up of grains which consist of fiber while bread is made up of flour (or maida). Chapati does not need any kind of yeasts or preservatives, which makes it a complete food in terms of nutrtitional contents in itself. Brown bread on the other hand, has in it a number of flavors which can be harmful for our health. Because bread has preservatives, it can be used for as long as a week, while chapatti has to be consumed freshly prepared only. To make bread spongy, yeast is added to it which makes it disadvantageous for our digestion.
We just can’t compare chapatti and brown bread. Chapatti is full of fiber and proteins which keeps us healthy and fit. On the contrary, bread consists of yeast which causes dehydration in our body. Also, the brown bread has brown color mixed in it intesad of wheat which makes it indigestible.
