Motion refers to the ability or tendency to move or be moved from one place to another. For example, when you are playing a video game on your phone and it moves "up", that's motion. It can also be used in things like car accidents where the car goes from being stationary to moving at high speeds - just as if it was magically transported through space - and then accelerates back down to a stop.
